Diana Hernández
Licensed Professional Counselor
My name is Diana Hernández and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, bilingual in Spanish and English. I grew up in the United States and am the daughter of Mexican immigrants. This combination of cultures has given me a deep sensitivity toward different perspectives and a clear understanding of the importance of honoring cultural values both in the therapeutic process and in my own personal development.
I have over 12 years of experience in the mental health field and more than 6 years as a licensed psychotherapist. I have worked in community health services, providing support to vulnerable populations such as uninsured individuals, immigrants, refugees, Spanish-speaking families, domestic violence survivors, people with addiction issues, among others.
My specialties include treating depression, trauma, adolescence, family and couples therapy. Throughout my career, I have received training in suicide prevention and intervention, polyvagal theory interventions, and sandtray therapy for children. Additionally, I am a certified facilitator of the "Circle of Security" program and am currently in the process of obtaining official certification as an EMDR therapist.
As a therapist, my approach is based on compassion, authenticity, and self-reflection. I firmly believe that all people possess inner wisdom, but that it is necessary to cultivate self-compassion to access it. The internal work we do in therapy can be challenging, and even frustrating at times, but also deeply transformative.
My goal is to accompany you so that you can see yourself, your family, and your partner not as obstacles, but as fundamental allies on your path to healing.
